Quadmester #3 – Important Information

Hello Assumption Families,

As a reminder, quadmester three will begin Monday, February 8, 2021 with Semester II periods 1 and 2 courses. Students are asked to check the student information system (SIS) for possible updates to their timetable, to see who their teacher is, and to determine their classroom number. This is an important step for students to know which zone their classroom is and what door they should be entering.

Daily Self Screening and Masking

Parents and guardians must perform daily screening of their child(ren) for COVID-19 symptoms BEFORE leaving for school using the COVID-19 Self-Assessment. Please follow the steps as laid out by the HCDSB School protocol and the Ontario School and Child Care Screening found here https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/. ALL STUDENTS who attend in person learning at school will be required to verify the completion of the self-assessment prior to the beginning of learning every day.

Unless a medical exemption has been granted, all students will be expected to wear their masks at all times inside the school and outside where physical distancing cannot be maintained. Students are encouraged to bring two masks to school each day so that they have a spare mask in case one gets wet. Should a student require a mask, the school will provide one for them. Students are asked to not congregate either before or after school and maintain physical distancing at all times.

First Day of Quadmester Three, General Information and Transportation

On Monday, February 8, 2021, Cohort A will be attending their period 1 (semester II) class in person and their period 2 class on line in the afternoon. (Cohort B will log in virtually to their period 1 and period 2 classes in the appropriate time slot.) Thursday, February 11, 2021 Cohort B will be attending their period 1 class (semester II) in person and their period 2 class on line in the afternoon. (Cohort A will log in virtually to their period 1 and period 2 classes in the appropriate time slot.) Please see the attached schedule.

Students are asked to review their course information, class room locations and the attached school zone maps to ensure they know their new zone entrance and exits as well as the location of their zone washrooms. Please note the school building is not accessible until 8:05 am. Students are asked to dress appropriately for the weather.

If you are a Cohort A or B student returning from at home learning and you plan on using a school bus for transportation, please ensure you verify your transportation status through www.haltonbus.ca

Resource Exchange (Cohort A and B)

All students are asked to return any outstanding textbooks, library books and/or classroom resources on their first day back in the school. There will be a table available at each zone entrance, where students will place their returns. Students with a subject specific electronic device to return are asked to bring those devices to their period 1 class and give them to that teacher. Arrangements will be made internally to return all items to the subject specific teacher. All classroom resources to be distributed will be handed out to cohort A and B students in their classroom during the week of February 8, 2021.

On-Line Learning and Cohort C material pick up and drop off

Students in Cohort C will access their on line learning through their D2L. Any students who are experiencing technological issues during class are asked to email their teacher directly. Students who need to drop off materials from their quadmester two classes (such as textbooks) and/or who are required to pick up materials for their quadmester two classes will utilize the Cohort C drop off and pick up session February 11 and 12, 2021 from 11:45-2:00 pm. Upon arrival at Door #1, students or parents are asked to line up physically distant, wearing their masks. Someone will be at the door to distribute materials. All materials for our Cohort C students will be labelled and bagged for their pick up. Students who are unsure of whether or not they require materials as asked to email their quadmester three teacher directly. All emails can be found on our school website www.gobluego.ca
