Two Gr. 12 Retreats were scheduled this year. Unfortunately, the second one never happened because of the school closures. The first one took place during the first semester – September 26. All Gr.12 students are invited to participate in the retreat and the chaplain takes whoever signs up. The theme is Graduation. The students take the opportunity to reflect on their years at Bishop Reding Catholic Secondary School and also to look forward to what lies ahead after high school graduation. The chaplain facilitates the retreat and helps the students to focus on God in nature, in His Word, in prayer and in community. The retreat is held at Crieff Hills Community Retreat Centre in beautiful Puslinch, Ontario. The four pillars of the retreat are the morning hike, lunch, recreation and the guided meditation. Interspersed throughout the day are individual, small and large group activities which reflect the theme of graduation. The students appreciated the time away from the daily school routine and took advantage of connecting with God and each other in very meaningful ways.
