How many more sleeps until the kick-off of the 2020-21 BR School Season? Not many, that’s for sure but a long, long weekend in between to enjoy the end of the summer holidays. Thank you God for summertime and thank you for work and thank you for the gift of Catholic Education. Exciting, yes. Stressful, yes. And our good Lord is with us every step of the way. Check out the prayer which follows this paragraph. You may contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Remember, I’m here for you, the students, the BR staff and the parents of our students. And I’ll pray for you all every school day. Please keep me in your prayers.
A Prayer As We Put On Our Masks (School)
As we prepare to begin the school year, help us to see the sacrament in the wearing of this cloth – let it be “an outward sign of an inward grace” – a tangible and visible way of living love for my neighbours, as I love myself. Christ, since our lips will be covered, uncover our hearts, that people would see our smiles in the crinkles of our eyes. Since our voices may be muffled, help us speak clearly, not only with words, but with our actions. Holy Spirit, as the elastic touches our ears, remind us to listen carefully – and full of care – to all those we meet. May this simple piece of cloth be shield and banner, and each breath it holds, be filled with your love. In your name and in the name of love, we pray. Amen. (Richard Bott)
