HCDSB Celebrates Pride Month

June is designated as Pride Month in Canada, and throughout the month, our HCDSB schools will be raising awareness around Pride Month and nurturing our call to build safe and inclusive learning environments where every student and every member of the community is welcomedvalued, and respected

This June, and each day of every month, our Catholic schools are committed to nurturing safe, welcoming and inclusive schools where all students can feel a true sense of belonging.

What’s Happening Across Our Board

Rainbow Day

We will launch Pride Month at HCDSB with a system-wide Rainbow Day on Tuesday, June 1st – a day to love and celebrate one another, just as God loves and celebrates each one of us because we are all wonderfully made.

Pride Awareness Day

On Monday, June 14th, we will hold Pride Awareness Day– a day to reaffirm our commitment to honour the dignity and worth of each member of our community by nurturing safe, welcoming and inclusive schools.

There are also a number of learning activities and events planned across our district throughout the month of June.

Upcoming Info Session – Building Positive Spaces

On Wednesday, June 23rd, HCDSB is co-hosting an information session for parents, students and staff, presented by the Reach Out Centre for Kids (ROCK) Positive Space Network. The presentation will focus on how we can build positive spaces for the 2SLGBTQ+ members of our community.

The event will be live-streamed on the HCDSB YouTube channel from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
