Each year, the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) celebrates exceptional students across our school district at the Annual Student Awards of Excellence Ceremony. This year, due to COVID-19 precautions in place, we are recognizing and congratulating our student recipients virtually!
Congratulations to Olivia Theodoratos who won the Student Award of Excellence & Robby Persaud who won the Spirit of Inclusion Award for our school!
Olivia has been an active member of our Holy Trinity community during her four years here. This year she is running Student Council and is a vital member of our SHIELD Trailblazers. She is a mature, caring young woman with a bright future.
Robby is a Trailblazer in the Holy Trinity SHIELD program. This program helps the transition to secondary school for grade 8 students be a more comfortable and inclusive experience. Robby is also a leader in the Best Buddies program. He meets with the Life Skills teachers to help them plan events and regularly drops by the class for visits with the students. During COVID he continues to interact with the Life Skills students virtually. He has developed and continued friendships with the Life Skills students. Robby is a mentor to students and checks in on students that he knows may need a friend. He is an active volunteer in many other ways at Holy Trinity such as assisting the chaplain organize liturgical services and thanking guest speakers at events. Robby is known for his very calm, quiet presence and he is a consistent and reliable student and friend.
