Bake Sale Fundraiser for Wabshkaa Animkii Binesi Program

Hey Hawks! Our indigenous Advisory Committee will be having a yummy bake sale tomorrow during both lunches as well as tonight at Music Night so be sure to bring some cash to school with you. We’ve got delicious homemade cupcakes, cookies, brownies and more! If you forget to bring cash you can make a donation to the WAB Program through school cash on-line, show your receipt at the bakesale table and you can spend that money on sweets!

All of the proceeds from the bake sale will go to support a program called WAB (Wabshkaa Animkii Binesi) in Thunder Bay. This non-profit organization has recently partnered with Grandmother’s Voice here in Halton and have reached out to us for support. The primary purpose of this after school program is to help to meet critical needs for their students, like the need for nutritious meals, the need for interaction with other children, a need to meet cultural knowledge needs, and the need for a safe space to pass on life skills and land-based teachings.

We will be running several fundraising events to the end of the school year to support this important program. The money from every bag of popcorn, every sweet you buy at our bake sales and your school cash on-line donations will directly support this critical WAB program.   We are a supportive, compassionate, and giving community so let’s show our Loyola spirit and make this and our upcoming fundraisers a huge success!
