Loyola Black Students Association

The Loyola Black Students Association (LBSA) is excited to host their second event on Wednesday June 8 at 2:30. Chef Garfield is returning to cook, and Halton Black Voices is coming to speak with students about advocacy, mentorship and community opportunities. A link was emailed to all students this morning. Please ensure you sign up so we can order enough supplies for the event. See Mrs. Morrow with any questions.

Track and Field Update

The track and field season came to a momentous and historic culmination this past weekend at the OFSAA Track and Field Championships. In a nail biting final, the Junior Girls 4 x 100 relay team placed 2nd making them the second fastest team in ONTARIO!!! A first for Loyola! Congrats to our team of Alyssa Stephenson, Debbie Suleman, Natalia Murillo, Sofia Caride, and Julia Guatto for leaving it all out on the track this season representing not only Loyola but also all of GHAC. Individually, Alyssa Stephenson also came 8th in the junior girls 100m and 10th in the 200m, a huge success for this rookie track star. This is just the beginning for these budding track athletes. Your coaches are so proud of your hard work and look forward to what you will do in the coming years. Congratulations!!

Girls Who Lift

This is a reminder that “Girls who lift” will be on today after school in the weight room. All girls grades 9-12 are welcome to join!

A Message From Your Learning Commons (aka Library)

“A lot of books have the word return in their titles. For example, Brian’s Return by Gary Paulsen, and The Return: Nightfall by Lisa Smith.”

“Speaking of the word return, it’s that time of year again to return overdue library items. All books and computers that are signed out need to be returned by June 17th. Thank you.”
