Prayers of the Week

Our thought for today, Monday October 19, 2020 is by John Quincy Adams

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good morning God!

Our prayer this morning is actually a special blessing we wish to prayer for our new principal Mr. Roberts.

Loving God,

in Your love for us You sent Your Son to be our Shepherd and Leader, our Brother and our Lord.

You continue to show Your love for us by sending us many other leaders and caretakers in our lives.

You show us through these people, how to care for Your people.

Bless Mr. Roberts as he takes up the responsibility

of Principal here at Notre Dame.

Guide him in his work, fill him with patience and love,

and let your Spirit of wisdom and understanding be with him.  Give him joy and peace in his heart.

Let Mr. Roberts always use your Son as a model of an honest, but loving leader.

Let him be supported in hard times, and let him support us during our hard times.

We ask this prayer through Jesus Christ Your Son

in the love of the Holy Spirit,

one God for ever and ever.

Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our thought for today, Tuesday October 20, 2020 is from the prophet Isaiah, Chapter 41 Verse 10

“So do not fear, for I am with you;

do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good Tuesday morning God!

With the world in the shape it is in environmentally, with governments barely hanging on, with war and hatred on the rise, with a global pandemic affecting us all…it would be an understatement that we all might be feeling at different moments fearful or dismayed.

In or thought for the day we hear You saying to us that we should not be fearful that You are with us.  You will uphold us and carry us through.

Help us to rely on you and to trust in You. When we are feeling overwhelmed, or anxious, or fearful, or depressed, let us turn to You.  Calm our worrying minds.

We ask for this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our thought for today, Wednesday October 21, 2020 is by the famous auto maker Henry Ford

“When everything seems to be going against you, remember…the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

We turn to You today to pray for something called resilience. According to the dictionary “resilience” is defined are recovering quickly from difficulties and toughness.

We all need a bit more of that God.  When things go wrong, like they normally will, we need You to help remind us that we are strong, and flexible and able to withstand pretty much anything this world can throw at us.

Help us God to be more resilient every day.
We ask for this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our thought for today, Thursday October 22, 2020 is by Maya Angelou

“I’ve learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way (s)he handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Sometimes God, we can all have a short fuse.  We can lose our temper over the smallest and silliest things.

Maya Angelou gave us only three small examples of how people handle small hurdles.  She also hints that if we lose our minds over a rainy day or tangled Christmas tree lights, we probably don’t fare well when bigger challenges come our way.

Give us patience God.

Give us peace.

Help us to not get too upset by anything around us!

We ask for this positive outlook, through Your Son.

Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our thought for today, Friday October 23, 2020 is by Reba McIntyre

“To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone, and a funny bone.”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good morning God1

We are thankful it’s Friday!

There is a lot of truth in Reba’s list for things we all need in life.

The wishbone – is we don’t dream, our lives become stagnant and void of growth.

The backbone we all need to stand strong and to be tough when life tries to knock us down.

And probably the best one on her list…the funny bone.  We need to laugh at ourselves and never take life too lightly.

Let this weekend be a time of rest and relaxation.  Let us all return here on Monday ready to tackle another week!

Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
