Prayers of the Week

We continue on our Lenten Journey – Week 3

We also continue to pray for Mr. Castiglione and his family.

Our thought for today, Monday March 8, 2021 is

“YOUR FUTURE NEEDS YOU. YOUR PAST DOESN’T!”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good morning God of the present and future.

Our past is something we really can’t do anything about!  If we did something wrong, the only thing we can do is try to make things right today.  The past cannot be rewritten, only the present and the future days can be written.

The past holds us back.  The past holds us down.

Help us God to always look forward with You as our guide.

We ask for this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

“The first duty of love it to listen!”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

God of mercy,

I don’t know how You do it sometimes!  I wonder how You can possibly hear all of us down here talking and praying all at the same time!  I can’t even let my friends finish their stories without interrupting!  You must know some great listening skills that we’re supposed to learn here on earth!  Help us to truly LISTEN to people.  Part of being a good listener means we must be silent!  I want people to hear me when I am speaking, so always let us return the favour!  By listening better, we would all be fulfilling the first duty of love…which is to listen.

We ask for this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

“Sometimes, our lost dreams aren’t lost at all!”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Dear God,

There have been times when I thought I knew what I wanted to do with my life!  I start planning for my future and then all these other things keep happening!  I start leaning towards an event or a life plan for school or a job and I learn that I’m not as great in something as I thought I was!  Sometimes too, I just give up on myself!  Help me God NOT to do this!  Dreams are just goals without any specific timelines! While I am still figuring all this stuff out, help me God to never give up on my dreams and to never stop dreaming!  Help me to dream big!

We ask for this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

“Sometimes it takes a lot of courage to keep a promise!”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good morning God!

I know what it is like to have people let me down.  I know what it’s like when people bail on me! Some people say one thing and do another!  Jesus, you know what that was like too!  Your friends said they would stand by you no matter what, they said they wouldn’t fall asleep, they said they would die with you…none of those things happened!  I can’t control other people, so let me make sure that my word is good.  Help me to always follow through on my promises.  Let me be known as a person who can be counted on.  Let me only say “Yes!” to a commitment when it is a “Yes!” in my heart!  And when I feel like wavering and not fulfilling my promises…keep me strong and help me have the courage to keep my promises!

We ask for this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our thought for today, Friday March 12,  2021 is

“Listen to the joy of your heart!”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good morning joyful God!

We all need to listen to the joy of our hearts, maybe now more than ever!  There are a million little joys we can enjoy every day…finding the cold spot on the pillow, watching the snow fall, waking up rested before the alarm goes off, a favourite meal, the perfect coffee, a text or a phone call from someone we haven’t heard from in a while, a TikTok video that makes us laugh or dance along, a good hair day, seeing a picture of ourselves that we actually think looks good, the feeling after a good run or work out, a killer nap, watching our pets do a trick or act crazy, movie theater popcorn, the list can go on and on…during a pandemic, when so many things can’t be shared…our joy can be!  Help us God to really celebrate today all the joys of our hearts.

We ask for this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
