Notre Dame Students to Compete at 2020 Canadian Olympic Swimming Trials!

From June 19-23, 2021, Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School students Ella Jansen (Grade 10) and Kenna Smallegange (Grade 12) will be competing in the 2020 Canadian Olympic Swimming Trials

Those who qualify have a guaranteed spot on the Canadian Olympic Team and will compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan!  

Swimmers must place in the top 20 per Olympic event and meet the minimum trial time to receive an invitation to compete at the Trials. This year, 185 swimmers will be competing across 28 Events. 

Ella is a competitive swim team member for the Etobicoke Swim Club, and will be competing in the 100-metre fly, 400-metre free, 800-metre free, 200-metre individual medley, 200-metre fly and 1500-metre free events at the Trials.

Kenna is a competitive swim team member for the Burlington Aquatic Devilrays, and will be competing in the 200-metre, 400-metre, 800-metre and 1500-metre free events at the Trials. She has also accepted a swimming scholarship to North Carolina State University for next year!
