Prayers of the Week June 21-25

Today is Monday June 21 2021 and our country celebrates National Indigenous Day.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Creator God,
We look at your world and praise you for the diversity all around us.
Thank you for the gift of relationships, our connection with people, animals, and the land.
Help us, Lord, to see differences and diversity as strengths.
Help us to listen and understand; to meet one another with wonder and anticipation.
Help us to love as You love, without expectation.
Reveal to us Your way of reconciliation and guide us into right relationships with all living things.
Lead us to understand how Indigenous peoples have been, and continue to be, profoundly harmed by settler people and institutions.
When we as settlers denied Indigenous peoples respect, dignity, and fullness of life, help us to know we must repent and make right what has been wrong.
Help us to listen compassionately, to speak humbly and to act justly.
Help us to seek the peace, justice, and reconciliation you desire among all your children.
Thank you for your mercy and grace.
Amen.

OUR LADY – pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Today is Tuesday June 22, 2021 and our thought for today is from the book of Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

God created us to be starters and finishers.

Anything we undertake should be finished.

Many people start well in their God-given assignments, but many people finish poorly.

Finishing strong should be our pursuit in life.

There are many reasons why we end up having a poor finish.

Normally, none of the reasons we use are good enough to give up.

In our last days, let us celebrate all that is behind us,

Let us do the best we can today!

Be with us today and always.

Amen.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

We ask for all of this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

OUR LADY… pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Today is Wednesday June 23 2021. Our thought for today is by Nelson Mandela

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good morning God,

When we are in the final stretch of anything, giving up and walking away is always an option, but it is also the easiest way out.

When we are talking about work, or fitness, or relationships…there is always an easy way out.

Every easy way out teaches us about giving up.

Even if nothing works out, we need to learn that never giving up is more important than the result, whether it be positive or negative.

Help us to never take the easy way out…whether it be the last week of school or anything in our future!

God, we ask you to keep us on track and help us hang in there!

Amen.

OUR LADY…Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Today is Thursday June 24,  2021. Our thought for today is by Michael Josephson.

“Take pride in how far you’ve come. Have faith in how far you can go. But don’t forget to enjoy the journey.”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good morning God,

We can see the end from here!

With only three days left, let us take a moment and look back and see all that we have accomplished.

We have been in school and out of school and still learned.

We survived hours online and working by ourselves.

We have found our strength even though we were separate from our friends.

We have kept up our marks.

We kept up our hours at work.

We kept our families together.

We kept wearing our masks.

We kept our computers on, and we kept keeping on!

Our journey has been incredible one this past school year.

We give thanks to You God for being with us through it all!

Be with us in our last school days.

We ask for this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
