Service Learning Program

Attention all students entering Grade 11:

We’re SO excited to announce that we have been approved to run the Service Learning Program at STA this coming school year. The Me to We trip that we will be embarking on is to Ecuador from April 18th– 27th, 2020.

If you choose to apply to this program, please remember that there is a course component to it. You will be enrolled in Grade 11 World Religions (HRT3M), and Grade 12 Social Justice (HSE4M) in semester 2. You will be working towards those credits as you prepare to go on the service trip. If you are in the IB or extended French program, please still apply, but indicate on the application that this is the case.

There is a mandatory parent information meeting about the program on Tuesday, September 3rd at 6:30 p.m. at STA if you are interested in the program.

Attached is the Application Package. The completed application package is due on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 by 3:30pm. There will be a folder in the main office with “Service Learning Program” written on it. Please submit here.

Each applicant will have an interview with the Service Learning staff sometime on Thursday, September 5th. Your interview time slot will be emailed to you at your Aquinas email in the evening of Wednesday, September 4th(after applications have been submitted).

If you are selected for the program, you will be notified before the end of that week. If you are notified that you’ve been accepted, you will then make a guidance appointment to ensure that you get enrolled in the above-mentioned courses.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email either one of us: or

We can’t wait to read your applications, and hear all about why you’re excited about this incredible opportunity. We promise you that it will be truly life-changing and something that you will always remember.
