Indigenous Advocacy Committee

This is a reminder that the Indigenous Advocacy Committee will meet today (Thursday) right after school in the Library and we would like to ask all current members to attend if you are able to.

We would also like to invite anyone else who is interested in equity and social justice issues that impact the Indigenous community. The goal of this committee is to provide experiential learning, to learn more about indigenous culture, and indigenous ways of knowing and being. Being a part of this important team will provide you with some wonderful opportunities to help to plan, organize and participate in several very important events which will take place throughout the rest of the school year.

If you are interested in joining or want to learn more about us, please come to our meeting today after school in the Library or see Mrs. Scott in the main office if you are interested but unable to attend.

Caribou Cup

This announcement is for students wanting to participate in contest #3 for the Caribou Cup. It will take place on Thursday January 18th. If you do not sign up, you will only be able to participate in it after school. If you did not receive an email and wish to participate, see Mrs. Smith in room 211.

Learning Commons Book Return

The following is a slight rewrite of George Orwell’s 1984 novel:
Winston stopped reading, chiefly in order to appreciate the fact that he was reading, in comfort and safety. He was alone: no telescreen, no ear at the keyhole…the only thing Winston had to worry about was his overdue library book!

Please return any overdue books and unused Chromebooks to your Learning Commons as soon as possible.
