Prom Shop 2022!

We have an exciting announcement to make about Prom so listen up graduates! If you haven’t yet bought your dress or suit, consider waiting a couple of weeks so you can check out the “Loyola Prom Shop”. This year we are going to open our new “Prom Shop” and here is how it is going to work. If you are a graduating student who wants to be environmentally friendly by choosing renewable, sustainable clothing and accessories, or even if you are just thrifty and want to save a ton of money, this is for you!

Rather than spend hundreds of dollars on dresses, suits and accessories that you maybe can or can’t afford, and that you will likely only wear once, consider visiting our “Prom Shop”. Our graduates will be able to make an appointment to visit the shop and pick out dresses, shoes, jewellery, accessories, suits and more. All we will ask is that you make a donation and all of the money raised will go to support the people of Ukraine.

This next part of our announcement is for every person in the Loyola building. It’s a call out for donations –Many of us have bought beautiful dresses and suits either for ourselves of for our sons and daughters. Once the party, prom, wedding is over, there’s really nowhere else to wear that short or floor-length, sequin-covered, or classic gown or party dress (even though you convinced yourself otherwise). Please consider donating your very gently used dresses, suits, shoes, purses, jewellry and accessories – to our “Prom Shop 2022” to support the next round of prom-goers!

Given that prom is only a couple of months away, we need to have all donations in by April 13th. Please drop your donations off to Mrs. Scott in the Main Office.

Varsity Boys Hockey – Exciting News!

In Varsity Boys quarter-final play-off hockey action last night, your Loyola hawks travelled to Burlington and knocked off the top-seeded, undefeated Notre Dame fighting Irish with a 3-1 victory!! After a scoreless 1st period, ND opened the scoring in the 2nd, but that would be the only puck they were able to put past hawk netminder, Josh Woods, who was spectacular between the pipes!  Hawks d-man, Charlie Wittick found the back of the net with a bomb from the point that chipped a piece of metal off the far post on its way into the twine! Not to be outdone by his d-partner, Myles, Luke sniped a top corner bullet from one knee, aka Mitch Marner-style, to give Loyola a 1- goal lead going into the 3rd

The 3rd period belonged to the Broglio brothers and Josh Broglio Jr iced the game away with an empty net goal to clinch the hawk victory. With the win, the boys now advance to the semi-finals and once again, travel to Burlington today to take on Corpus Christi at Mainway arena, which is sure to be another exciting match up!  Puck drops at 3:00. Go Hawks Go!

Games Club Today!

Just a reminder that Games Club is running today after school in the Library.
