Mentor Program

Attention all grade 10 students, are you interested in becoming a grade 11 mentor next year? Are you interested in developing our leadership skills, make new friends, support, and provide guidance for new grade 9 students? Then please stop by room 135 to pick up a mentor application from Mrs. Cheal. All types of leaders are welcome. Applications are due end of day on Friday, January 20th. Don’t delay, this is an amazing opportunity. If you have any questions, please see or message Mr. Mojica or Mrs. Cheal.

Exam Study Hall Sessions

Exam study hall sessions are continuing this week for exam prep! These sessions are open to all students! The drop-in sessions will be held in the Library from 2:30 – 3:30 starting this Wednesday and will run Mondays through Thursdays for the next couple of weeks leading up to January exams.

In addition to the after-school sessions at the library, we are running two Lunch and Learn days next week: The first session will be on Tuesday, January 17th and the second session is on Thursday, January 19th. There will be a session during both period 3A & 3B for both days, in room 131. There is no need to sign-up just drop in at the beginning of your lunch and bring your friends.

Get yourself organized and learn study tips and exam writing skills. Teachers will be available to help you prepare. Also, check out the posters around the school with a QR code to get connected to exam writing resources or go to our school website for more information.

Waterloo Programming Contest

This February, Loyola will be competing in the annual Waterloo Programming Contest! Students who have taken a computer coding class or are self-taught coders are highly encouraged to participate!
There will be an information meeting on Tuesday January 17th after school in Rm 285. We hope to see you there!

Girls Hockey News

The girls hockey team played a solid game against STA and won 4 -1! Shout outs go to Jillian for scoring 2 goals, Ella and Lauren for scoring a goal each and to Kayla who played amazing in net.

JA Pitch Your Vision Competition

Last night two teams from Loyola made the final of the JA Pitch Your Vision competition. Congratulations to Luca Grbavac, Nicholas Filice, Aidan Kola and Andreo Colucci for making the finals! The two teams presented their enterprising business ideas to an audience and panel of judges. Both teams did a great job presenting their ideas, showcasing their innovation and business knowledge. After some deliberation from the judges, Aidan Kola and Andreo Colucci were named the winners of the competition with their product BlacKettle! Congratulations boys! So proud of you all!
