World Autism Day

Today we will record our acts of kindness at LOYOLA.

During Period 1 – Special Education students will come to each class to deliver envelopes. Inside the envelopes, you will find paper puzzle pieces.  Please distribute them to the students.

Students are asked to write ONE of the following:

  • one act of kindness they did for someone else, or
  • An act of kindness they witnessed or
  • an act of kindness that someone did for them.

When the students are finished writing, please place all the puzzle pieces in the envelopes. Leave the envelopes on your whiteboard ledge.

Special education students will pick them up sometime during the day today or Monday.

This is just a REMINDER to wear BLUE shirts on Monday, April 3rd, to celebrate “World Autism Day (uniform bottoms)

Prom Pop-Up

We have an exciting announcement to make about Prom so listen up Class of ’23 graduates! If you haven’t yet bought your prom dress or suit, consider holding off just a little longer so you can check out our “Prom Pop-up” which is coming soon!

We know that some of you want to be environmentally friendly by choosing nearly new clothing and accessories, some of you are just thrifty and want to save a ton of money, and some of you might be struggling with the cost of all the expenses of graduation and prom. We want to help you with finding your prom dress, suit, shoes, and accessories by providing a Pop-up right here at Loyola!

Stay tuned for more announcements next week about when and where the Prom Pop-up will take place and for photos of what we have to offer on Instagram.

This next part of our announcement is for every person in the Loyola building. It’s a call out for donations to our Pop-up. Many of us have bought beautiful dresses and suits either for ourselves, or for our children. Once the party, prom, or wedding is over, there really is nowhere else to wear that suit, floor-length, sequin covered or classic party dress (even though you convinced yourself otherwise). Please consider donating your very gently used Formal dresses, suits, shirts, ties, shoes, purses, jewellery and accessories – to our Prom Pop-up to support our next round of prom-goers!

We will accept donations starting today until next Friday, April 7th. Please be sure that all donations are clean, are in nearly new condition and are appropriate for formal wear. If you have any questions, please call, or see Mrs. Scott in the main office.

Lastly, if you are a graduating student and would like to help out with our Prom Pop-up, please see Mrs. Scott in the Main Office.
