Toronto Blue Jays Ticket Raffle

We are selling raffle tickets for our Toronto Blue Jays Fundraiser in support of the WAB Youth Program in Thunder Bay. Prize includes 4 Premium Tickets & Attend Batting Practice. You will have several days to choose from. Check out our website for more information and how to buy tickets. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25 and will be available for purchase until midnight on April 30th. The winner will be announced on May 1st!

Semi-Formal Dance Tickets!

Get your dancing shoes on for Thursday, April 20th to explore Loyola’s enchanted forest Semi-Formal from 6:00 – 9:00 in the cafeteria. The grade 12s welcome ALL grades to join them for their last full school dance! Get excited about sweet homemade treats, pizza and more magical snacks. Be sure to get yourself picture-perfect for our photo booth and look for QR codes posted around the school to make song suggestions. Tickets will be on sale for $15 each and open on school cash online to grade 9s and 10s now until Wednesday, April 12th for our Early Bird Special!

Juniors take advantage of the Early Bird special to ensure your spot at the dance. Tickets will then be available to all grades, including grades 11 and 12, from Thursday, April 13th to Wednesday, April 19th. Can’t wait to see you there!”]

Semi-Formal Free Hair Stylist Appointments

If you would like to have your hair done for semi-formal on Thursday April 20th, the cosmetology Senior Stylists can do it for free all day on Thursday. There are appointments available all throut the day that you can book a time slot for. There are posters by the stairs with a qr code to the form. It if first come first serve.

Graduation Fee

Attention grade 12s. The graduation fee is now on School Cash Online and must be paid to cover the grad ceremony, grad gown, swag and some fun events planned for you. If you need financial assistance to help cover this fee, please reach out to your Vice Principal. The fee is due by April, 14th.

Prom Pop-Up Donations Needed!

This is another call out for donations to our Prom Pop-Up! Please, please, please consider donating your very gently used Formal dresses, suits, shirts, ties, shoes, purses, jewellery and accessories – to our Prom Pop-up to support our next round of prom-goers!   

We would appreciate receiving donations by next Friday, April 14thPlease be sure that all donations are clean, in nearly new condition and are appropriate for formal wear. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Scott in the main office.

Dodgeball – Staff vs. Students Fundraiser

Attention Hawks! An all grades dodgeball tournament is starting up soon! If you and your friends want the chance to take on the teachers, check the posters around the school or on our Loyola Hawks Athletic accounts. There is a $5 entry fee posted on school cash on line, with all money going towards helping the Turkish and Syrian earthquake relief efforts. Bring your signed intramural form found in the Loyola Hawks Athletic bio and hand it in by Thursday at the table set up in the Atrium during lunch.

The grade 9 tournament is happening this Monday, April 17th during your lunch. Act quickly to participate!

EQAO Student Engagement Committee

Do you want to impact Ontario students educational experience? will you be in grades 9-12 during the 2023-2024 school year? If yes, please consider submitting an application to be a member of the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) Student Engagement Committee!

The Student Engagement Committee provides feedback and advice to help EQAO better understand the experiences of students. If you are interested in applying for this opportunity please see Mr. Busby for more details.

Tennis Anyone!

Did you double-fault and miss our meeting on Wednesday? Don’t worry, the Loyola Tennis team is still looking for Junior and Senior players to compete in a tournament this spring. Tryouts and practices will start next week and finish up at the end of May. If you are interested in playing and can commit to this schedule, see Mr. Roynon in room 151 for more details.

Spring Coffee House

Our Spring Coffee House is back! Student council’s Spring Coffee House will be held on Thursday May, 11th! We are looking to showcase talents such as singing, musical instrumentals, musical bands, and dancers. We are also hoping to showcase some of our student’s beautiful art in the atrium!

If you have a special talent you want to share, email Mrs. Stewart and your Student council president Tabitha Stephenson on what you would like to perform ASAP and then send them your audition video clip by April 28th the latest. Their emails can be found on posters around the school. Good Luck!

Jr. & Sr. Badminton

There will be a very brief meeting after school today in the gym for all Jr. & Sr. Badminton team members.

Student Services

This is the final week to make a change to your original course selections for the upcoming school year.  You can complete the online charge form by either scanning the QR code outside of Student Services or visiting the D2L site.   The change form will be open until midnight April 15th!

Also, lots of great scholarship opportunities have been posted in the Content Section of Student Services’ D2L.  Check them out to see if you are eligible!

Just a reminder, rationales for the Robert & Esther Bell Bursary are due to Mrs Luis today, if you have not submitted yours yet, please do so after the announcements.

And applications for the Maycourt Scholarship are due on the Awards Hub next Friday April 21st.

The US College Expo will also be running next weekend on Saturday, April 22nd from 10-2pm at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto.

Also, the Skilled Trades Fair will be taking place tomorrow from 10-3pm in Milton at St. Francis Xavier.
