Dodgeball Fundraiser

Attention Grade 10 students! Dodgeball Tournament is happening on Monday May 1st during your lunch. Pick up your permission forms from the Main Office and pay your $5.00 through cash online or cash in the office. Grade 11s your tournament is on May 8th. Grade 12s your tournament is on May 15th. All participants are eligible to play in the Staff vs Students game on May 29th during Period 4, which will be a CIVVIES day and a BUY OUT for anyone who wants to watch. We will also be holding the second day of our Fundraising Fair in the Atrium, come check it out! All proceeds will be going to help the survivors of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

Student Council & Student Senate

Attention students of Loyola…if you want to be a proactive member of your school and board community and help plan initiatives you might be interested in student council or student senate. These groups will be hosting the Loyola Leadership Forum on Thursday May 4th in the library right after school. For more information on what they do and how to join, we hope to see you there.

Loyola Art Show

Our Loyola Art show, celebrating Aesthetic and Achievement, is now on and open to classes throughout the day, on Thursday and Friday of this week. Teachers, please bring your classes down at your convenience and supervise your students.

There will also be an evening viewing of the art show tonight, Thursday, for students, parents, and the community. If you took art last semester of last year, or first semester of this year you are encouraged to come out to the show.

All artwork will be returned on period 1 on Monday.

Soccer Field Trip- U of T

For all those who signed up, or are interested in attending the field trip to the University of Toronto with Mr. Costa’s soccer Phys-Ed class, please see Mr. Costa for permission forms.

Graduation Awards

Attention graduating grade 12s. This is a reminder that self nominations for grad awards are due this coming Friday. They must be submitted to the Form before mindnight. for details, see the Student Services D2L site or see Mrs. Smith in room 211. 

Prom Committee Meeting

There will be a meeting today, Wednesday at 12:25 in room 104.

Trivia Night – Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed for the big Trivia Night this Friday. Get your volunteer hours rolling! We would need your help from 6:30 – 10:00. See Chaplain Wayne to sign up.

Toronto Blue Jays Ticket Raffle

This is just a reminder we are still selling raffle tickets for our amazing Toronto Blue Jays prize package. The winning prize includes 4 Premium Toronto Blue Jay Tickets, attendance at batting practice on Game Day, a basket full of Blue Jay swag and a Jersey!. 

Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25 and can be purchased through school cash online or, if you would prefer to pay cash for your tickets, please see Ms. Smith or Mrs. Scott in the Main Office.  

Tickets will be on sale until April 30th and the winner willb e announcemed on May 1st! All of the proceeds will be donated to the WAB Youth Program in Thunder Bay. 

Student Senate

Hey Hawks! If you’re in grades 9-11 and interested in having a say in your education, being a Student Representative of your school, and being a voice for change, then Student Senate is for you! Build your leadership and interpersonal skills by applying for Student Senate for the 2023-2024 school year. Applications close on May 19th. More information can be found on Instagram @hcdsbsenate. If you have any questions, or are interested in applying, contact Mr. Busby or Loyola’s Lead Senators Lauren McGuire and Lauren Robinson. Valedictorian Applications

Attention graduating students. This is a reminder that Valedictorian applications are due one week today. The application is posted on the student services D2L site.

Spring Coffee House

Our Spring Coffee House is back! Student council’s Spring Coffee House will be held on Thursday May, 11th! If you have a special talent you want to share, auditions are due April 28th. You can email your video to Mrs. Stewart and your Student council president Tabitha Stephenson by April 28th the latest. Their emails can be found on posters around the school. Good Luck!

Class of 2023 Movie Night

Attention Class of 2023. Save the date for a fun movie night on Thursday May 4th. Please forward any appropriate movie requests to Mrs. Smith. More info to follow shortly.

Girls Lacrosse Team

This is an announcement to all students on the girls lacrosse team: There is a mandatory meeting today after school in room 239. Please see Mr. Rivard or Mrs. Kellner if you have any additional questions.

Student Services

Summer school registration is now open!  Visit “Continuing Education” on your myblueprint account to sign up.

Scholarship applications are due this Friday, April 28th for Easter Seals, John Sawyer, Rotary Club, and both Jim Robinson & George Winnett Bursaries from the Lion’s Club.  Also, self-nominations are due for this year’s Loyola Grad Awards!

Applications for the OMDREB scholarship are due this Sunday April 30th!

Applications for the Meridian Sean Jackson Scholarship are due this Sunday April 30th!

Registration is now open for McMasters Friday, June 2nd, Discovery Day, and is based on a first come, first served basis! You must sign up with Mrs. Luis in Student Services (either in person or via email). Enrollment is limited!
