Indigenous Advocacy Committee
This is an important message for all our Loyola Staff and Student Hawks!
Are you interested in equity and social justice issues that impact the Indigenous community? Reconciliation and reconcilaction? If so, we hope you will consider becoming a part of our Indigenous Advocacy Committee here at Loyola. The goal of this committee is to provide experiential learning to learn more about indigenous culture, and indignous ways of knowing and being.
Being a part of this important team will provide you with some wonderful opportunities to help to plan, organize and participate in several very important events which will take place throughout the school year. Some upcoming events include Orange Shirt Day, Red Dress Day, Treaties Recognition Week and themed activities for both students and staff.
If you are interested in joining, please come to a meeting on Monday, September 11th at 2:30 in the Learning Commons (aka Library). If you have any questions or want to learn more about us before the meeting, please see Mrs. Scott in the Main Office.
Student Services
Volunteer hours will be accepted after September 22nd. We appreciate your patience as we work through this busy time.
For students that have an appointment, please keep in mind that changes to courses may not be possible at this time.
Tomorrow, Tuesday Sept. 12th is the LAST day to make any course changes for Semester 1.
Night school registration closes an noon this Wednesday, September 13th. You can register through your myblueprint account.
Liturgy Volunteers Needed
We are looking for both readers and a volunteer crew to set up for our Liturgy on Thursday. If you are interested in helping, please see Chaplain Wayne.
Jr. Girls Basketball
The tryout that was scheduled for today after school has been moved to Wednesday after school. If you have any questions please see Mr. O’Neill.
Sr. Girls Basketball
The final list for Senior Girls Basketball is posted outside the gym – there will be a meeting in room 169 after school today. We will have our first practice tomorrow morning at 7:00am – Go Hawks!
Girls Field Hockey
Girls Field Hockey tryouts are Wednesday morning at 7:00am on the back field. Anyone in Grades 9-12 is welcome – no experience needed. Please see Ms. Osorio or Ms. Ventresca for a form.

There will be tryouts today after school in the gym.

Cross Country Team
There will be a Cross Country information meeting today after school in room 219.
Friendfest
Attention all grade 9s, this is a reminder to bring in both your signed school permission form and Halton/Kelso consent forms and give it to your period 1 teachers Please ensure that your trip fee is paid through school cash online. Due date is this Friday September 15th.
Golf Team
Any students interested in playing on the Loyola Golf Team. There will be a short meeting right after school in room 133.
Ultimate Frisbee
A message from Mr. Zoratti for anyone interested in playing Ultimate Frisbee. On Thursday after school, join us on the side grass field for pick-up Ultimate Frisbee intramurals. No experience necessary! This is NOT a tryout! Pick up a permission form from Mr. Zoratti, across from the Music Room on your lunch today. Hope to see you there!
