Math Contest Results

Yesterday, 126 students participated in Loyola’s first ever Caribou Cup Math Contest. Students were challenged with Egyptian fractions, the area of poorly labeled triangles and a very strange question with a whole lot of fruit! We would like to congratulate all participants for a job well done.

For our grade 11 and 12s, a special shout out to our top three participants. In third place we have Lucas Neacsu, in second place is Agatha Wang and our first place winner is Liam Toews.

For our grade 9 and 10s, in third place we have Jocelyn Shi, in second place is Nazar Hermanyuk and our first place winner is Hazel Hu. A remarkable thing about these 3 winners is that they all placed in the top 5% of the World participants. A huge congratulations to all.  The next contest is scheduled for November 15 and 16. We hope you all return. And if you didn’t participate this time, but would like to join us for the next, watch for the posters to go up next week around the school.
