Girls Varsity Hockey

The Varsity Girls Hockey Tea will hold their first tryout this Thursday Oct. 19th from 3:00-5:00. Permission forms can be found on the door at room 133. Practice will be held at Glen Abbey Arena – please join the google classroom and complete the survey.

Boys Varsity Hockey

A message for all boys that intend to try out for varsity hockey. You’re reminded that you are on the ice tomorrow (Tuesday) at 3pm at Glen Abbey Arena. Please bring both a dark and white jersey to the skate. Remember that without signed permission forms you will not be permitted to step on the ice.

Jr. & Sr. Boys Basketball

For ant Jr. & Sr. Boys interested in playing basketball, there will be a mandatory meeting in the Health Room on Wednesday after school.

Sr. Girls Basketball

There will be a practice after school today. Please be there for 2:40 sharp.

MLL Live Different Leaders

The MLL Live Different leaders will have a brief meeting immediately after school in room 247.

Math Contests

To those students interested in writing math contests, there are 2 different contests available. The first contest is the Canadian Intermediate/Senior Math Contest (Intermediate for grades 9/10, Senior for grades 11/12), which is through the University of Waterloo. This contest will be written during periods 1 and 2 on Nov. 15th. Registration for this closes at 11:59 pm tomorrow (Oct 17). To register, pay the $14.28 fee on School Cash Online. Assuming the student attends the contest on November 15th, this money will be refunded.  The second contest is the Caribou Math Contest. The Caribou Math Contests are a series of 6 contests written throughout the school year. The scores for these 6 contests are totalled together for an overall winner of the Caribou Cup. The first Caribou Math Contest will be this week. STEAM students do not need to sign up as all students in the STEAM program are automatically participating during their regularly scheduled math class. Students not in the STEAM program will need to sign up as soon as possible using this link – https://forms.gle/JqaL3iHfTpWSXViz8. There is no cost to participate. The contest will be written on Wed Oct.18 for grade 9s during period 4 and on Thurs Oct. 19 for grades 10 to 12 also during period 4. 

School Trip to Washington – April 2024

Attention ALL Grade 11 and 12 students, we have some exciting news! In April 2024 we are running a trip to Washington DC. Highlights will include the Vietnam Memorial, a tour of the Pentagon, Smithsonian museums, a theatre production and a Major League Baseball game. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Cheal in room 135 for more details. You do not want to miss this trip!

Wellness Meeting Thurs. Oct. 19

Student Services

Today is the last day for Period 1 Grade 12 Pathway Presentations are well underway; for Grade 12 students with a Period 1 spare, the presentation will be in Room 121.

The College Fair at the Enercare Centre will be taking place from 5-9pm this Wednesday October 18th and from 9-2pm this Thursday October 19th.

The Ontario University Fair will be held this weekend, Saturday, October 21st and Sunday October 22nd from 10-5pm at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

And submissions for U of T’s National Scholarship Program are due this Thursday October 19th.
