Attention grade 9s! If you are interested in science, technology, engineering, art or math, come explore these different aspects of STEAM through hands on activities and experiments! Join the STEAM Society, starting on Tuesday, October 24th in room 163 after school. For more information, scan the QR Codes on the posters around the school. Loyola Swim Team
For anyone interested in joining Loyola’s Swim Team, there will be a meeting Monday, October 23rd after school in room 284.
Loyola Cross Country Team
The Loyola XC Team will be competing under the beautiful fall colours at the GHAC Regional Meet tomorrow, Oct 24, at Hilton Falls in Milton ON. The team will be travelling by bus which will be departing at 8:45am tomorrow morning. Athletes are to meet in the Atrium at 8:15am tomorrow morning. There will be no training today although there will be a team meeting today after school to discuss race preparation for tomorrow. Please come to the meeting today at 2:30pm in room 219.
Paid Non Uniform Day – Pink Day
We will be having a paid non-uniform Pink day tomorrow in support of Breast Cancer Awareness and the Canadian Cancer Society. If you have not already done so, students are encouraged to pay a one-time fee of $20 through school cash online for 10 non-uniform days this school year. Students will be given a wristband in your period 1 class tomorrow that must be worn on the non-uniform day. Teachers are asked to pick up the wristbands from their mailboxes.
For those that purchased pink t-shirts, remember to pick up your t-shirt in the gym today at lunch and join the Leadership Class in the Atritum for some fun and games. Then, bring your school spirit to the girls basketball game at 3:00 as they battle Corous Christi for first place. Head to toe pink is encouraged!
Take Our Kids To Work Day
This is a reminder for grade 9 students. Please make sure to return your signed take our kids to wprk day form to your period 1 teacher by this Wednesday October 25th.
Girls Varsity Hockey
The girls Varsity Hockey team is looking for players and goalies from grades 9-12 to try out this Thursday Oct. 26th at Glen Abbey Arena at 3:30. Permission forms are in room 133.
Boys Varsity Hockey
a reminder to all boys trying out for varsity hockey that we’re back on the ice tomorrow at 3:00pm at Glen Abbey Arena. Please bring a dark and a white jersey.
Boys Basketball Tryouts
Tryouts will be held this week. Sr. Boys on Tuesday at 4:00, Gr.9 Boys on Wed. At 4:00, Gr. 10s & 12s on Thurs. at 4:00, Gr. 9s & 10s on Friday after school. Please bring signed permission forms.
School Trip to Washington – April 2024
Attention ALL Grade 11 and 12 students, we have some exciting news! In April 2024 we are running a trip to Washington DC. Highlights will include the Vietnam Memorial, a tour of the Pentagon, Smithsonian museums, a theatre production and a Major League Baseball game. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Cheal in room 135 for more details. You do not want to miss this trip!
