To get there, we must work together to remove barriers to participation in sport The mission of the Paralympics is to ensure that the people, programs, and equipment are in place so that Canadians with a disability can be active in sport in their communities and all the way to the Paralympic podium.

Paralympics supports athletes with disabilities participate in sports. To quote Paralympics Canada “To meet our athletes is incredible, to hear their stories is unforgettable, and to watch them compete will change you forever. ” Paralympic athletes train hard, compete with intensity, and push the boundaries of human achievement. Their disability doesn’t make them different. They’re athletes first–they do it for athletic achievement and competition. They are driven by their pursuit of excellence.
