Paid Non Uniform Day

We will be having a paid non-uniform day this Thursday November 30 in support of the Movember Charity which raises awareness of men’s health issues. If you have not already done so, students are encouraged to pay a one-time fee of $20 on school cash online for 10 non-uniform days this school year. Students will be given a wristband in your period 1 class Thursday that must be worn on the non-uniform day. Teachers are asked to pick up the wristbands from their mailboxes.

International Day of People with Disabilities

Here at Halton Catholic District School Board we strive to create a safe and inclusive school community for all our students. We answer God’s call to love and serve by demonstrating our Catholic values of love and acceptance.

This week we recognize International Day of People with Disabilities by celebrating the differences and unique gifts and abilities of each person in our schools and communities, our students, staff and families beyond the walls of our schools. Today we ask ourselves the question “how can I include others” and “what actions can I take to promote acceptance.”

Let’s follow the teachings of Christ to recognize and promote the gifts of all people. Today we encourage you to practice empathy and put yourself in to the shoes of someone living with a disability, whether it is seen or unseen. How do you like to be treated? Are you welcoming others into your class or friendship group? Are you smiling and seeing someone beyond what can be seen on the outside? Do you show that you care by engaging in meaningful conversations with others?

Today and every day, let’s all do our part to grow and support more acceptance and inclusive playgrounds, hallways, classrooms and communities here at Halton Catholic District School Board.

Loyola Angel Campaign

The Angel Campaign is perhaps one for the greatest ways where you can
your family can help people in our OWN SCHOOL have a Christmas.
Our regulate themes for the school year are pretty simple – Advent is act
local and Lent (which is just before Easter) is think global. So even advent
we take care of our own families.
For the next FOUR WEEKS – we ask for cash donations from staff,
students, families and community partners in order to help give Christmas
to our own Loyola students. EVERY DOLLAR COLLECTED says right here
at Loyola. It is NOT donated to outside organizations or to other charities.
Every single cent will go to purchasing gift cards for our families.
There is a special link this year where everyone can donate on line. If you
or your family wishes to donate cash instead – we will not say no! We
really encourage though the web link that will be sent to everyone!
Grade nine you will be getting a special video message next week and
grades 10-12 we will be talking about this during our Advent Liturgies.

So start thinking about what you want to donate as a HAWK, as a staff member, go home and talk about it your parents (a special letter will be
going home to them!!) hit up your grandparents or aunts and uncles.
TOGETHER we will make Christmas happen!
