Computer Science Education Week!

The winner of the “Computer Science word of the day” for yesterday is Denzel Polong who was the first to correctly guess the word “hacker” and he will receive a prize.

Hackers have made a big impact on computing. They try to find weaknesses in a computer system or network then they try to gain unauthorized access to someone’s personal data. This is unfortunately a negative impact of computing in our society.

For our final “computer science word of the day” we are upping the ante! The first student to email Mrs. Alfano at alfano@hcdsb.org with the correct word will win a prize for themselves as well as a prize for their entire period 1 class!

Here are todays 5 clues for the final “Computer cience word of the day”

Slips, Trips and Falls Announcements

The risk of slipping, tripping, and falling increases dramatically during winter months. To help yo stay safe this season, here’s a winter safety tip to prevent slips, trips and falls:

Wear footwear that has slip-resistant soles. As the name indicates, slip-resistant soles lessen your chance of slipping on ice, snow or water.
