Paid Non-Uniform Day

This Wednesday June 12 will be our last Paid Non-Uniform day of the school year. Proceeds will go to the Lighthouse charity that supports grieving children and families.

Attention Graduates

Do you have any gently used school uniforms you will not need next year or uniforms that do not fit? Donate them and receive a pass to wear civics during your exam period! Drop off your uniform items at the main office starting Thursday, June 14th, and receive your uniform exception pass. Remember, no pass means no civics. Please keep your pass either tucked in the back of your phone case or snap a picture of it. Present to your teachers when asked. Your donations go directly to supporting or life skills program.

To all grade 12 students who missed the graduate barbeque on Thursday, please come to room 211 to pick up your grad swag today or tomorrow at lunch. And there were a few bags and hats left on the field. If you left yours behind, please see Mrs. Scott in the main office.

Graduating students over their time at Loyola that have successfully completed at least 5 business courses (including economics) are eligible for the Business Studies Certificate. Please complete the Google form link posted on the Student Services D2L homepage.

Your Voice is Power

We continue playing songs coded by Mrs. Mascarenhas’ Indigenous Studies class and Mrs. Alfano’s Gr 10 math class that promotes one of the 94 Calls to Action outlined by the TRC. Today we are featuring a song coded by Jade Bourgoin She writes “My song, with its positive energy and slow beats, represents Call to Action 79 by celebrating the resilience and vibrant cultures of Aboriginal people. This aligns with the requests that Canada collaborate with artists, other Aboriginal people, and survivors of residential schools to both acknowledge and recognize the significant contributions made by Indigenous cultures to Canadian heritage and to honour and remember the history and legacy of residential schools. Let’s listen to her song…..

St. Teresa Carnival Volunteers

This is a reminder to all of those students who offered to volunteer at St Teresa of Calcutta’s Carnival on Thursday. Please be sure to check your email or stop by Student Services to get the schedule of when and where you will be volunteering.
