STUDENTS REQUESTING TO MEET WITH A COUNSELLOR (last updated Sept. 7, 2026)

Students who would like to meet with their assigned Guidance Counsellor (please see below for alpha distribution) can sign up Tuesday, Sept. 8 – Friday, Sept. 11, outside Student Services during the following times:

8:00 AM – 8:15 AM

11:00 AM – 11:15 AM 

12:15 PM – 12:30 PM 

2:15 PM – 2:30 PM

Please note we cannot accommodate the following requests:

Hello Thunder! We, your Guidance Counsellors, Mrs. Pietrobon-Flynn, Mrs. Klimitz, Mr. Resendes, and Ms. Sneyd, look forward to seeing you Tuesday, September 8th!

Timetables will be available for students to view online is Friday, September 4, 2026, by end of day. To view your timetable, go to the St. Kateri website (https://secondary.hcdsb.org/stkateri/# ), under “Academics” and “Student Services” and “Student Information System” (SIS) and you will be prompted to sign in to your PowerSchool account. TIMETABLES ARE TENTATIVE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE! Please double check your timetable prior to arriving at school Tuesday morning.

Technical Support

If you are experiencing any log in issues with your HCDSB or PowerSchool accounts, please put in a ticket with the HCDSB HelpDesk: https://servicedesk.hcdsb.org/  .

• We are aware that some students may have incomplete timetables. Ensuring these students have a full timetable is our priority and we will follow up with them at our earliest opportunity. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
• Students who are new to the Halton Catholic District School Board (for example, coming from a public or private school) will not have access to the SIS. They can pick up a hard copy of their timetable on Tuesday, September 8 from 7:45 AM – 8:00 AM in the school cafeteria.
• Students requesting to see a counsellor regarding their timetable can begin booking an appointment on Tuesday, September 8. Sign up sheets will be available outside the Student Services office before and after school and during lunch. Students will be called to see a counsellor according to grade and priority.
• Please note we cannot accommodate the following requests:

• Our Advanced Placement and Pre-International Baccalaureate Programmes are currently full.

End of Year Updates

1. Students who have signed up for summer school will see their acceptance when they log back into myBlueprint, under “Continuing Education” and see a green checkmark under the course they selected.
2. Information about summer school can be found here: https://merton.hcdsb.org/secondary-students/summer-school/
3. Questions regarding transcripts can be directed to our Student Services Secretary, Ms. Wang.
4. Students can submit a ticket to the HCDSB Help Desk if they have questions about student log in information or their OCAS/OUAC accounts.
5. Counsellors will resume office hours September 1st, 2026.
6. Information about 2026-27 timetables will be posted on our school website closer to the start of the new school year.

Attention all students who have signed up for summer school: we have 2 very important messages for you:

1. Some summer school courses have been cancelled. Please check your HCDSB email to see if you’ve received a cancellation notification.
2. For students who have enrolled in a course that is running, check the Thomas Merton summer school website for important information about how to access your course and timelines.

Black Foundation of Community Networks

BFCN will be hosting another edition of the BFCN Scholarship Application Workshop for Black students and their families. 

Join online on Wednesday, June 10 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM ET.

This workshop is open to all Black students from any school board or institution. Access to this information is vital and helps Black students and their families make informed decisions about funding options and their continued educational journeys.

Funding Your Future: On Thursday, April 23rd, St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School will be hosting a presentation titled “Funding Your Future” put on by Sheridan College to help inform families of various scholarships and bursaries and OSAP information available to help pay for post-secondary education. This presentation is open to Gr. 11 and 12 students and their caregivers from Bishop P. F. Reding, St. Francis Xavier, and St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary Schools.

Doors will open at 5:45 and the presentation will be from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the St. Kateri cafeteria.

Course Selection

1. Reminder that course selection runs from February 13 – March 6th and is done through myBlueprint!
2. Counsellors will be available during lunch on Wed. Feb. 25 in Student Services to answer questions students have about course selection. No appointment needed!
3. There will be an elective course and SHSM program fair in the atrium on both lunches Thursday, February 19th. This is a great chance to talk to teachers about various elective options and specialty programs for next year.

Semester 2

Student schedules are subject to change.  Class sizes are still being balanced which means students may be moved from one section of a course to another, meaning students would have the same course, but might have a different teacher and room than what their timetable originally stated. Students should check PowerSchool often for updated timetables.

Attention all students taking an online course semester two: a welcome letter should be coming to your outlook accounts. Please ensure you know how to check your HCDSB (outlook) email account, not jut the school Gmail accounts. If you are taking an online course through another board, not HCDSB, you will find this course in D2L under the heading “Courses in other organizations.” If you are unsure how to find or access your course, please come to Student Services. 

Semester 2 Night School

Wednesday, February 18, 2026 to Monday, June 15, 2026
Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Course Selection Presentations for the 2026-27 School Year

Gr. 11 students had their presentations in January.

Gr. 9 presentations will be Period 1 on Monday, February 9 and Tuesday, February 10.

Gr. 10 presentations will be Period 1 on Wednesday, February 11 and Thursday, February 12.

Course selection will be done through myBlueprint and will open Friday, February 13 and close Monday, March 6. Note that a verification email will be sent to parent/guardian email accounts from myBlueprint once the student has submitted their course requests.

There will be a drop in course selection planning information session for students and caregivers of Pre-IB students after school on Tuesday, February 17. Please check your email for more information.
