Specialist High Skills Majors are a specialized program that allows students from all pathways to focus on a specialized area. Students will register in grade 10 in preparation for entry into the program in Grade 11.
Starting September 2023, the Ministry of Education has approved the following SHSM programs for St. Kateri:
- Arts and Culture (Lead: Mr. Petitti)
- Business (Lead: Mr. Page)
- ICT – Information and Communication Technology (Lead: Mr. Ballan)
- Sports (Leads: Mrs. Bradley & Mr. Paquette)
These programs will provide enhanced learning experiences (ie: Field trips,, guest speakers, etc …) and certifications (Standard First Aid, WHMIS, etc …) as part of the graduation components. Students will also take two credits of Co-Operative Education in their SHSM sector.
