Remembrance Day Poppies
This is an announcement for all Staff and Students to remind you that this Friday, November 11th is Remembrance Day. Every year, from the last Friday of October to November 11th, tens of millions of Canadians wear a Poppy as a visual pledge to honour Canada’s Veterans and remember those who sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today.
While the Poppy is distributed freely to all who wish to wear one, the Legion gratefully accepts donations to the Poppy Fud. Donations collected directly support Veterans and their families within their community and to help ensure Canadians “never forget”.
We have poppy boxes available in both the main office and in the attendance office.
Glee Club Rehearsal Cancelled
Glee club has been cancelled for today and will resume next week.
Bantam Boys Basketball Team
Attention all grade 9s interested in trying out for the Bantam Boys Basketball Team. Stop by room 256 today to get your permission forms. First tryout will be on Monday, November 14th, after school. All permission forms must be submitted before Monday’s tryout.
Curling Team
For all those who showed interest in the Curling Team, please visit the Google Classroom for all the important and mandatory guidelines, rules, expectations and waivers that need to be completed by Thursday (tomorrow).
Jr. Boys Basketball
There will be a Jr. boys Basketball practice today at 2:35.
Robotics Team
There will be a Robotics meeting today in room 167. Full team 2:30-3:00. Sub teams programming 3:00-4:30. Business Team 3:00 – 4:30.
STEAM Society
Attention Grade 9s! Are you interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math? Come discover your passion for STEAM through hands on experiments, mentorship, and outreach opportunities at Loyola’s first ever STEAM Society! The first meeting will be on November 17th in room 248 after school. Check the posters around the school for the google classroom code!
Championship Basketball & Football Games Fan Buses
Congratulations to our Sr. Girls Basketball and our Sr. Boys Football Teams for making it to the Championship Games this week! We will be sending Fan Busses to each game. Check Instagram or go to the PhysEd office for forms. Tickets will be available on school cash on line until tonight at 10:00pm ONLY. Limited spots are available – Don’t miss out!
