Pink Day for Anti-bullying
Day of Pink – February 28th, 2024 The 2024 Pink Shirt Day design was inspired by moments of kindness, empathy and understanding that can mean so much to people impacted by bullying. For bullied people, it can be hard to know where to turn. But a helping and supportive hand can make a world of difference! Remember that whether it’s sending a check-in text, calling out bullying behaviour when you see it, or simply offering your support, there are so many ways we can all help and connect with people being bullied. Let’s Lift Each Other Up this Pink Shirt Day, and all year round! There will be activities in the Atrium during all lunches. Come down to check it out.
Go Girl Hackathon
Attention all grade 9 and grade 10 girls! Sign up for our Go Girl Hackathon happening on Wednesday March 6th! Learn how to code like a pro in one day! Create an app to share with your friends! We are looking for girls who have never coded before and want to give it a try. There will be prizes awarded. Look for the green posters around the school and sign up using the QR code or email Mrs. Alfano at alfanoa@hcdsb.org. Don’t miss it!

Just a reminder that submissions for The Optimist Oratorical Contest are due today! Grade 12s hoping to graduate this June – Community Service Hours are due to your Guidance Counsellor this Friday March 1st! Also, course selection for the 2024-25 school year are due Sunday March 3rd by midnight!
Dungeons & Dragons Club
Calling all adventurers! For any students interested in joining the Dungeons & Dragons Club, there will be a meeting on Monday (March 4th) after school in room 139 with Mr. Hassan (HASS- ON) . No experience is required, and we welcome players with any/all levels of experience. Spread the word, and please see Mr. Hassan if you have any questions or concerns.
University of Waterloo Math Contest
If you signed up for the University of Waterloo Math Contest, it is beginning right now in the library. If you are not already there, please make your way there immediately. The last Waterloo Math Contest will be in April. There is a contest for grades 9 to 11, and the Euclid contest for grade 12. The sign up for this is now on SchoolCashOnline. Sign up closes on March 5th.
Jr. Girls Soccer
There will be a Junior Girls Soccer Meeting on Thursday February 29th in room 248 after school. All girls interested in trying out for the team are encouraged to attend the brief meeting. If you have any questions or cannot attend the meeting please contact Mr. Cenedese.
Mentor Captain Applications
Attention all grade 11 students who would like to apply to be Mentor Captains during the 2024-2025 school year, please pick up an application from Mrs. Cheal in room 135. Applications are due on Friday March 8th. ALL grade 11 students can apply.
