St. Francis Xavier Student Wins 2021 Trend Micro Video Contest!

This month, Grade 11 student Tiwi Lanre-Adisa from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School won the Grand Prize at the 2021 Trend Micro ‘What’s Your Story?’ Video Contest

The Trend Micro ‘What’s Your Story?’ Video Contest aims to engage and empower youth through video production and to promote positive social media use.

Students across Canada and the United States are asked to submit a creative video in response to the question, ‘What does the Internet mean to you?’ Finalists are determined by the number of ‘likes’ each video receives and are then assessed by a panel of judges to determine the Grand Prize Winner.

Tiwi won for her video I Have the Internet, a piece that illustrates how the Internet has helped her through the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Because of the Internet, throughout the pandemic I was able to attend virtual school, start new hobbies like creating a TikTok account and watch YouTube videos. The Internet also allowed me to go to church, which is very important to me,” said Tiwi.

Tiwi’s creativity and video production skills won our school $5000!

Tiwi is a Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) student in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Program and is a member of the Production Team for the Knights News Network.

Congratulations, Tiwi, on your incredible accomplishments in video production!
