Iftaar Night 24

St.Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary recently hosted an Iftaar Night. On this special occasion, students of all backgrounds came together to share in the traditions of Ramadan and break their fast. The event kicked off with an insightful talk from A.Q. Mufti, shedding light on the significance of Islam for both Muslim and non-Muslim attendees. Students had the chance to learn about important Islamic terms and figures, fostering understanding and appreciation among the diverse school community.

After the enlightening discussion, everyone gathered to break their fast with dates and water, followed by a congregational Maghrib salat prayer. This collective moment of worship underscored unity and solidarity among participants, transcending religious differences. The evening continued with a delightful feast in the school cafeteria, where students enjoyed delicious food and cherished moments of friendship and laughter. Saint Francis Xavier’s Iftaar Night was a heartwarming celebration of diversity and inclusion, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended and reinforcing the school’s commitment to fostering understanding and continuing to accept, include, and serve with love!
