Good afternoon, Assumption families and students,
I’m writing to share an overview of our Spirit of Christmas Day taking place on Friday, December 19. This will be an early dismissal day across all HCDSB schools, with Assumption dismissing at 12:45 p.m. The full agenda for the day is attached for your reference.
This year, Student Council is introducing a new tradition for our community. Their hope is that the final morning before Christmas break becomes a time when we gather as a school, share a meal, and close the calendar year in a spirit of fellowship. These are the kinds of moments that often become lasting high school memories, and we strongly encourage students to take part.
Overview of the Day
Students will attend shortened morning classes, followed by a Christmas assembly in the gym. At 11:30, we will come together for a Community Christmas Dinner — a turkey meal catered by Le Dome Fine Foods, available for $10 through School Cash Online.
Please note that the cafeteria will be closed on December 19. Students who are not purchasing the turkey dinner must bring their own food.
At 12:00, we will move into a pair of Christmas volleyball games featuring Senior Girls Volleyball vs Senior Boys Football, followed by Students vs Staff.
The day will conclude with administrative announcements and dismissal at 12:45 p.m.
Tickets
The firm deadline for purchasing a turkey dinner ticket is Monday, December 15 at 12:00 p.m. No additional tickets can be made available after that time due to catering requirements.
