School Communication #51 – International Day of Pink April 8th

Hello Assumption Community,

Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 8, our school will participate in the International Day of Pink in support of anti-bullying.

Students are encouraged to wear pink as part of their dress down day to show solidarity with those who have experienced bullying and to demonstrate our shared commitment to kindness and inclusion. Research tells us that at least one in five youth are impacted by bullying. That reality calls us to be intentional in how we build community and how we care for one another.

Please note the following:

• Wearing pink is encouraged but not required.
• Students not wearing pink must be in full uniform.

Pink Shirt Day began as a simple act of support for a student who was bullied for wearing pink. It has grown into a national movement reminding us that small acts of courage and solidarity can make a significant difference. In our Catholic tradition, we are reminded that every person possesses inherent dignity. We are called not only to refrain from harm, but to actively build a culture of respect, empathy, and belonging.

Regards,

Assumption Administration
