Prayers of the Week

Our thought for today, Monday February 8, 2021 is by Dr. Mae Jemison, first African-American female astronaut.

“Never be limited by other people’s limited imaginations.”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good Monday morning God!

Some people have a very short vision for other people.  These are the people who tell us out loud that we can’t do things, accomplish certain tasks, or achieve the dreams we’ve set out for ourselves.  Small people always do that!  They tear other people’s dreams apart.

As we continue to celebrate Black History month, the words of Dr. Mae Jamison couldn’t be truer.

Help us God to never be limited by OTHER people!

Help us to dream big.

Help us be who we are called to be!

We ask for this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our thought for today Tuesday February 9, 2021 is by Martin Luther King, Jr.

“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality…. I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word..”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good Tuesday morning God!

Simply put in the light of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s quote, we ask you God to help all of us find an end to racism.  Let the colour of people’s skin or what country they “come from”, make no difference to our eyes or opinions.  Let unconditional love rule our actions.  Let unconditional love come from our hearts and mouths towards all our global brothers and sisters.

We ask for this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our thought for today, Wednesday February 10, 2021 is by Olympian Jesse Owens

“We all have dreams. In order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good morning God!

We ask this morning that you help us to always work hard.  To make relationships work, we need to put in the love and the compromise and the time, to truly build something up.  When it comes to our work, help us to be proud of what we do and finish every responsibility to the best of our abilities.  When it comes to learning, help us God to never be done learning!  Let life and books and people and YOU be our forever teachers.  Help me to be strong and always do the best that I can.

I ask for this through Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit. One God, forever and ever…

Amen

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our thought for Today is Thursday February 11, 2021 is by famous boxer Muhammad Ali

“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Dear God,

Some of us will never jump out of a plane or go bungee jumping.  Some of us will never trade our hard-earned money on the stock markets.  Some of us will not ever run a marathon or get a black belt in karate or build a home from the ground up. All of these things take courage and know how!  So, for those of us who won’t do the crazy big things – we still need to be courageous to accomplish goals in our lives.

We must get that diploma and finish that degree.

We need to say out loud that we love people.

We have to say I’m sorry.

We need to speak up and reach for the promotion.

Help us God to take risks; the kind of risks that will help us be forward looking people.

Be with us always!

Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our thought for today Friday 12, 2021 is by rapper, musician, producer and clothing designer Jay-Z

“I’m hungry for knowledge. The whole thing is to learn every day, to get brighter and brighter. That’s what this world is about. You look at someone like Gandhi, and he glowed. Martin Luther King glowed. Muhammad Ali glows. I think that’s from being bright all the time, and trying to be brighter.”

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good morning God!

We are thankful it’s Friday!

We were all brought into this world by You God to glow.  We are to find our own talents and gifts and use them the best of our abilities. By using what You gave us, we glow in the giftedness You have given to us.

Once we know our love and goodness, we can’t help but reflect that love and goodness to the world around us.

Reflecting Your love is us glowing in a different way!

Help us to shine our light!

Help us to shine Your light!

Let us shine on!

Keep us safe this family weekend and bring us back to our school safe and healthy on Tuesday!

Amen.

Our Lady – Pray for us!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
