Peer Tutoring

Attention Grades 9 & 10 Students

Please see the memo below explaining our License 2 Learn (L2L) Peer tutoring program.  This program is a valuable opportunity for your child to receive academic support at no financial cost.  We strongly recommend this program for any grade 9 or 10 student who is experiencing challenges in the classroom and who seeks to improve their level of achievement.

License to Learn (L2L) Peer Tutoring Program

The L2L program allows students the opportunity to be trained in the skill of tutoring before taking those skills forward. We will be running a 12-week tutoring block commencing the week of March 25th. Our goal is to service as many students as we can. That said, given the high demand of this program, please note that this tutor request is not a guaranteed placement in the program. Placement will be determined by teacher input, student/tutor needs and best fit. We will do our best to match students according to need & capacity of our tutor.

If you think this program may benefit your son/daughter, please complete the Google Form

The tutoring sessions will run every Monday/Wednesday OR Tuesday/Thursday after school from 2:25pm – 3:40pm in the library. Deadline to apply is WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20th at 3:00PM.

Please note that TUTORS are volunteering their time to ensure the success of the L2L program. For this reason, the L2L program mandates that all sessions must be completed so that our tutors fulfill the programs requirements, so your son/daughter’s ATTENDANCE is Mandatory. If the student can commit to these requirements, please sign up via form above. If you have any questions about the program, feel free to contact Ms. Sneyd, sneyde@hcdsb.org at (905) 335-1544 ex 1010.
