Dear Notre Dame Parents, Guardians, and Students:
Our much-anticipated Graduation Dinner Dance will take place tomorrow, Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Burlington Convention Centre. The event begins at 6:00 pm and ends at 11:00 pm.
We look forward to this wonderful celebration for our graduates. Our staff and student planning team have worked very hard to create an enjoyable and memorable event for everyone. As always, the safety of your child is our primary concern.
Students and guests will be required to show their ticket at the door upon arrival. Only Notre Dame students and guests who have received prior permission to attend the event will be admitted. Please note that the doors will close at 7:00 PM. Students and guests will not be permitted to enter the venue past 7:00 PM. Once students have entered the venue, exit and re-entry will not be permitted.
We wish to avoid any unfortunate situations that result from students consuming alcohol or taking any forms of recreational or illegal drugs at pre-prom parties or gatherings prior to or during the Graduation Dinner Dance. Vapes, e-cigarettes, cigarettes and any other smoking devices are not permitted.
Any student or guest whom we believe to have consumed or to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or any student or guest who is in the possession of alcohol or drugs will be removed from the Dinner Dance. Consequently, parents/guardians will be called to escort their child home. Consequences and possible suspension will follow.
This is a private event, and the HCDSB Code of Conduct & Standards of Behaviour are in effect. We have the same expectations of any guest that is attending, regardless of their age, even if they are over 19. We will have staff supervisors and security present at the event as per the requirement of the venue.
In the event of a behavior violation by either the Notre Dame student host or their guest, both the Notre Dame student host and their guest will be asked to leave the event.
We expect that all students and guests will conduct themselves in a respectful and courteous manner.
Together, we can work to ensure a safe, positive, enjoyable, and commemorative event for our students.
