Welcome to the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School web site, home of the Aquinas Raiders. As school principal I am excited and honored to be part of the Aquinas tradition that has developed through the combined efforts our teachers, students and parents.
Through the cooperative efforts of our staff here at STA, we are excited to be able to offer our students a comprehensive academic program as well an outstanding co-curricular program. Included in our academic programs are the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) in Health Care Science/Medical Technologies, Information and Computer Technology, Construction & Carpentry, and Sports. STA is also offering a Dual Credit Automotive and Construction program in partnership with Mohawk College for the 2021-22 school year. The International Baccalaureate (IB) program also continues to thrive and prosper in our school community. We hope this is another example of our ability to offer students a “small school” environment with the benefits of a large school curriculum. Our staff looks forward to providing our students with a unique Catholic learning experience that will prepare them for their post-secondary goals.
At St. Thomas we respect and value the diversity of cultures within our community and build on this strength to give our students a “real life” picture of the world beyond the walls of STA.
Our school is named after St. Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274) who was a Catholic scholar and theologian. Our school motto is “Aequalitas, Veritas, Excellentia” which translates to “Equality, Truth, Excellence”.
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School, together with home, church, and community, values the uniqueness of each person and is dedicated to life-long learning, personal development, and spiritual growth.
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School is dedicated to academic excellence, the development of each individual’s interests and talents and the nurturing of the Catholic Faith. Students are taught to think critically, work independently, communicate effectively, and show respect for themselves, for others, and for the environment. By accepting the challenge of education now, our students will be prepared to meet the future with faith, confidence and a strong sense of their own self-worth.
