Crusading 4 Cans Food Drive!

Hundreds of students from Assumption gathered to collect and package non-perishable food items to donate to the Burlington Food Bank during the month of October. This has become a yearly tradition that the Assumption Crusaders have named ‘Crusading 4 Cans’.

Over 84 groups of approximately 400 students were involved in the initiative on Halloween night. This year’s drive resulted in over 12,000 lbs of food that was collected and packaged by the students!

The Crusading 4 Cans initiative began 11 years ago, beginning in Cosmetology class with only a few groups of students. Each year moving forward, hundreds of students have gathered to organize the food drive as early as September.

Some students have been involved in the food drive for their 4 years in high school, and some alumni return on Halloween night to see the event, bring in cans and reminisce about the good times at Assumption.

Congratulations to all students who made this year’s Crusading 4 Cans Food Drive a huge success!
