  • Will be available through School Cash under the student School Cash accounts
  • Order before October 10th – delivery will be between November 6- December 7…..we will notify families once our delivery date has been confirmed with Fresh from the Farm.
  • If you can, please consider buying 1, and donating 1 to our local food bank, parishes and families in need within the Assumption school community.
  • This fundraiser benefits the school (school receives 40% of fundraiser proceeds – funds will be donated to our Special Education department).
  • Donated packages will go to families in need within the Burlington community (local parishes, foodbank, & within school community); and supports local farmers.

Extended Absences for Students

Although trips and vacations provide experiential learning opportunities, Assumption cannot support travel or vacations during a semester. The content covered in each course is important and requires daily attendance for students to be successful. If parents may choose to travel during the school year, please note that missed days are recorded as absences and these will count in the total attendance record for the semester. Significant absenteeism impacts a teacher’s ability to assess and evaluate students and may jeopardize both their mark and credit.

Students who are missing 5 or more days of class time are required to fill out an Extended Absence Form and have it completed by their teachers and Vice Principal.

Prior to an extended absence, students should consult with their teachers to ensure they know what content they will miss. When possible, students should complete and submit any assignments prior to their trip.

Please Note:

  • Assumption’s school administration will only approve extended absences which cause students to miss Exam/Culminating Periods for compassionate and medical reasons.
  • Vacations are not a legitimate reason for missing a culminating or exam assessment.

Thank you

Change in WiFi for Staff, Students and Visitors – Monday, September 25th

Our new networks will function similarly to “haltonrc” and “guest,” with the following differences:

* “hcdsb-wifi” will be the network HCDSB staff and students use for all of their devices (both personal and Board-issued), logging into the network using their Board username and password (i.e., SmithJ@staff.hcdsb.org or jim.kelly.123@students.hcdsb.org).

NOTE: The “hcdsb-wifi ” password must be updated whenever the login password is changed.

* “hcdsb-guest” will be used for visitors and will require “sponsorship” by an eligible HCDSB staff member.   The expected discontinuation of “haltonrc” and “guest” Wi-Fi networks will be September 25, 2023.

Thank you – have a wonderful weekend!
