School Communication #10

Good evening Assumption students, parents and Guardians – Below are a few items of interest from the school:

Pink Game Buyout – Tomorrow (Sold Out)

Tomorrow in our Pink Game, our Sr. Football team is taking on St. Thomas Aquinas in our annual cancer fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness and Research.  We are happy to say that due to student support, we have sold out our game and proceeds are all going to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Please note the following:

  • All Assumption students can wear a pink shirt and socks tomorrow as a visual reminder of our fundraising initiative.  This is not a civvies day. The shirt/socks must be pink or the regular uniform tops are to be worn.
  • Uniform pants and shoes are to be worn while in school tomorrow.
  • Students are not allowed to attend the game if they have not already bought a ticket.
  • Parents/Guardians: There is no signing students out of class to attend the game.  If students do not have a ticket, they are to attend classes as scheduled.  Please note, tickets are sold out for this year’s game … we have hit our maximum limit for the bleachers.  Only students with tickets (and parent fans) will be allowed to enter the football field.
  • Thank you for your support of our Cancer Awareness/Research Fundraising event.

Jr. Boys Basketball Coach Needed

We are in need of a jr. boys basketball coach.  If you are interested and are able to submit a vulnerable sector screening check, please contact the school:

(905) 634-1835 and ask for our Dept. Head of Athletics – Mr. Aaron Consoli (thank you).

Service Hours for Graduating Students – Action Required

This is a reminder that our students who are graduating, must complete 40 community service hours before April 1st, 2024.  For students who are still in need of community service hours, Please click here.

Signing Students Out of Class

We are running across too many students who are out of class and wandering the building – and, a lot of time, students are signed out of class.  Please note that if a student is signed out of class, they are signed out for a specific reason and are leaving the building (ie: dentist/medical appointment).  Students are not to be signed out for:

  • watching a sporting event, school play or other activity (The school is charged with that responsibility ie: buyout of our Pink Game)
  • studying in the library during class time
  • completing assessment tasks during class time

When at school, students are to be in class or under the direct supervision of a teacher.  They can not be signed out and wandering the building/grounds or unsupervised in another part of the school.  We thank you for your understanding.

Wishing everyone a great evening,

Assumption C.S.S.
