Good morning Assumption families!  Please see below for a few items of interest:

Education Week and Staff Appreciation Day

As we look forward to celebrating Catholic Education Week this week, it is fitting that during this celebratory week, we will also be honouring Staff Appreciation Day on Friday, May 10, 2024.
We are blessed at Assumption C.S.S. with a team of dedicated staff who go above and beyond the call of duty each and every day to create a nurturing and welcoming learning environment for our students.
Please join us in showing our gratitude for their hard work and commitment. A note of thanks, or even a word of appreciation can make a big difference in showing our staff how much we value their efforts. Our staff directory can be found HERE.

Gr. 12 Assassins Game

Attention Gr. 12 Students and Parents/Guardians,

It has come to our attention that there are senior students participating in the “Assassin’s Game”. The game is similar to tag and asks participants to use replica, BB Guns, or water guns to “shoot” other participants. This is not a school organized or sanctioned game or event, and guns of any form are not welcome on school property.

Concerns have arisen with respect to the safety of those participating. The administration of Assumption does not support or condone the playing of this game, and at no time are students allowed to engage in the game on school property or during school hours. Students found to be in violation of this will be subject to school-based consequences including suspension. Students are not to bring bb guns or water guns to school, at all.

The safety and well-being of our students is our greatest concern. We encourage you to speak with your child/ren about the dangers of engaging in the “Assassin’s Game” and discourage them from participating in this game.

Thank you in advance for your support.

School Attendance

More and more students are arriving late to school, late to class, and, in some cases, not attending school during the day at all.  Please note that the upcoming weeks are extremely important as we head into final units of work, culminating activities and exams.  Students are expected to be in the classroom by 8:10 a.m. every morning – and in full uniform.  Teachers are completing units of work and need the full attendance of their students in order to ensure that materials are covered and completed by all.

Parents/Guardians, your cooperation with ensuring that students are here on time and are ready-to-go for the school day is appreciated.  Students – we look forward to completing the school year with you … by you being in class and by giving your best efforts in all tasks given by your teachers.

Thank you all and have a great day,

Assumption C.S.S.
