Full Hearts for Empty Stomachs

On behalf of the Social Justice club, we hope that your families are staying safe and well. The pandemic has hit us all hard, but especially those in poverty. Did you know that in 2020 over 537,000 people required access to a food bank in Ontario? As a club, we are doing things differently this year, with a few senior members from the 2019/2020 school year brainstorming ideas to help those who have been hit hard by the pandemic, since we can’t volunteer or meet in person as a group.

We are excited to announce our first initiative of the 2021 year; “Full Hearts for Empty Stomachs” to give back to those in need within our Burlington community.

This food drive will run from March 15th to the 26th with all donations going to the Burlington Food Bank. All we ask of you and your families is to look and see if you have any non-perishable items to donate or anything you can spare.

The following items are what the food bank is in most need of, but any donation is appreciated.

Canned meat (ham, turkey &/or chicken) Rice (1 or 2kg in size) Peanut Butter Canned Tomatoes Hot Cereal (oatmeal/porridge single servings) Canned Fruit Large soup (ready to eat) Cookies Drop off will be the designated boxes stationed inside your children’s assigned door at the school.

We thank you for your kindness and help!
