The Society of Descartes Medallists recognizes HCDSB’s Mario Soster 

Mario Soster, the department head of mathematics at  Assumption Catholic Secondary School in Burlington has recently been recognized by the Society of Descartes Medallists for his commitment to teaching mathematics. 

The renowned Society of Descartes Medallists was founded in 1968, for the advancement of mathematics at the University of Waterloo. Each year, the Rene Descartes Foundation admits new members as Descartes Medallists based on their contributions to mathematics education.

Honoured by the recognition, Mr. Soster said, “I look back on these last 20 years of teaching with great fondness and look ahead with great enthusiasm. My thought towards both teaching and learning math is to always keep an open mind and never give up.”
